Question to council meeting - October 2017
In view of the recent DCLG proposal, currently out for consultation, that would reduce the target number of new homes in Bradford by 537 new homes per year, can Bradford Council confirm they intend to do everything possible to minimise greenbelt release for housing development in Bradford by:
- A) Waiting until the final revised NPPF is released in Spring 2018 before moving any further forward with the Core Strategy and the Site Allocation stage?
- B) Undertaking a review of the Core Strategy target housing needs, based on the new projected housing requirement figures, to recalculate more realistic and deliverable housing requirement figures and a fairly balanced distribution of such new homes across the district.
- C) Producing and publishing a robust and comprehensive Brownfield site register and ensuring that such sites are given priority when considering phasing and planning permissions, with a determination to not approve ANY Greenbelt release until these sites have been exhausted.
